Tastes of Zagorje – Gastro Tour

We start the tour with a visit to a local winery, where you’ll enjoy a tasting of award-winning wines and sparkling wines, complemented by a cold platter of traditional Zagorje delicacies. After soaking in the breathtaking views of the rolling hills, we’ll continue to a traditional Zagorje estate where you’ll taste štrukli or zagorska bučnica, a regional specialty.

Next, we head to Marija Bistrica, a renowned pilgrimage site visited by Pope John Paul II. Here, you’ll learn about the rich history and cultural heritage of this sacred place, and perhaps pick up a traditional licitar heart or enjoy some homemade gingerbread cookies.

To wrap up the tour, we’ll take you to another winery featuring traditional local wine varieties. In addition to tasting wines, you’ll also have the chance to sample pumpkin oil and various pumpkin-based products.
